A bit of my Background

I won't keep you too long, promise. But I think it's always nice to know a little bit about the person you might work with. Anyway, my name's Daria, but I go by Dora. The idea for this name came when I moved to Poland, it's a bit of a mix between my real name and the local name "Dorota". Plus, as a kid, I loved the cartoon Dora the Explorer, so it just felt right.

I'm originally from Belarus and I moved to Poland in 2020 to start university. I went to study Marketing and Market Communications, but honestly, it wasn't really my thing. In 2021, I had a class in Graphic Design and that's where everything changed. I fell in love with design from the very first lesson.

But my story with creativity started way earlier. Since I was 13, I loved editing videos, playing around with design, and creating unusual things. I was always curious about Adobe programs even though they seemed super complicated back then. I kept starting and stopping, but the love for creativity stayed with me. I've always loved drawing too.

When I discovered design properly at university, I knew right away that I wanted to do it professionally. I took extra courses in Graphic and Motion Design, found an internship in Poland, and from there, I got my first job. I stayed with the company for 2 years, from 2021 to 2023, and then decided to start my freelance journey. That's when I opened my own small business.

Outside of work, I love staying active. Every winter, I go snowboarding, and whenever I can, I play paintball with friends. Active adventures, spending time with friends, and traveling, these are the things that bring me the most joy and inspiration.

I truly believe that if you want to create something meaningful, you first need to build a strong and happy version of yourself. Once you do that, anything is possible.
